Japanese Arts, Crafts and Monozukuri culture is originated from Japanese native beliefs and customs. Its unique development owes to the inheritance of the tradition and also the adoption of foreign cultures. It is called “Hybrid Culture”. Temples and shrines have played important roles as guardians of Monozukuri and expression of art.
In this 21st century Japan, people tend to think that the religion, arts and crafts and performing arts are all divided and independent from one another. But what is the definition of so-called “rich life” that we truly seek? Can we really have that kind of life quality out of ideas or systems of the West which put great value on efficiency or function? For the re-evaluation and strong appeal of Japanese culture, we would like to suggest to get together at a “certain place” where we can pay more attention to our own culture and history and develop Japan’s own arts and crafts and performing arts from now on and forever.
