でも、一見正しいこの回答は、実はネイティブが聞くと少しぎこちない印象を与えることをご存知でしたか？
こんなときは、
“every now and then” ＝ 「時々」
という意味のイディオムをつかって、
“Sure, every now and then” 「もちろん、時々行きますよ。」

And today’s word or phrase is every now and then.
And what I like about this is that there are four simple words every now and then,
but when you put them together,they sound really really natural.Every now and then.
今日のワードアンドフレーズは”every now and then”についてです。
たった4語でネイティブらしい自然な表現ができます。
But I almost never hear my Japanese students use this.
OK, so let’s learn how we could use this.
が、私は日本人の生徒さんで、このフレーズを使っている人を見たことがありません。
では、どのように使えば良いのか、ぜひ学んでいきましょう！
OK, so here we have an example and this is what I often ask my students.
I say, do you go drinking with your colleagues?
では、まず私が受講生によく質問することを例にしてみましょう。「同僚と飲みに行ったりしますか？」とたずねます。
And their answer is yes, I sometimes go drinking with my colleagues.
This is a perfect answer. Perfect.
But it’s missing something.
It’s missing that natural touch.
すると、「そうですね、ときどき同僚と飲みに行きますよ」と答えがかえってきます。
これは完璧な答え、、かもしれませんが、何かが欠けているんですね。
それは、”自然さ”です。
OK? So, to make it sound a little more natural, we could say this.
So if I ask do you go drinking with your colleagues?
OK？では、より自然な表現を使ってみましょう。
ではもう一度 「同僚と飲みに行ったりしますか？」
You can say sure, every now and then.
「そうですね、ときどき行きますよ。」と言ってみましょう。
Just like that. Sure, every now and then.
Now, let’s practice the pronunciation here.
こんな風に「そうですね、ときどき行きますよ。」
